Terms and Conditions of Participation ARTICLE I. NAME The Name of this organization shall be the College Bass. ARTICLE II. PURPOSE College Bass sports property dedicated to promoting, preserving and furthering the sport of college bass angling. Additional purposes and objectives of College Bass are: A. To support local, regional and state fisheries through participation and involvement in conservation and environmental projects; and B. To promote the practice of the highest standards of sportsmanship and carry on the purity of collegiate competition. ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP Section 1. Member. In order to participate in the College Bass, the school they represent must be a four year program, furthermore an individual (1) must be a member of the College Bass (hereinafter referred to as "CB"); (2) an individual's school club must be registered with CB. (3) Must be enrolled as a student at the college they represent. (4) Must have a minimum of a 2.00 cumulative GPA. Section 2. Club Registration. For a club to be recognized by CB, a member, usually the president of the club, will submit their information as an official contact person for the club. At that point the club will have their school logo placed on the website, a username and password will be handed out to allow the club to access the CB forum. The forum allows the clubs to stay up to date on information about upcoming events. Section 3. Minimum Hours. All participants must be enrolled as a student at the college they represent with a minimum of 12 hours. Section 4. Minimum GPA. All participants must have a minimum 2.00 GPA Section 5. Age Restrictions. No student over the age of twenty-five (25) may compete in the CB qualifiers or Championship. If a student turns the age of 26 during the qualifying process then that student will be allowed to compete in the Championship if all other requirements are meet and student advances to the Championship round. Section 6. Removal Procedure. Members who conduct themselves in unsportsmanlike manner will be terminated from the CB. Unsportsmanlike manner will be determined by CB officials. ARTICLE IV. FORMAT Championship will be three day event. All schools will compete on the first two days of competition and fish with the CB rules and regulations as usual. After the second day of competition a reduced field of schools with the largest total weight will advance to the final round. All weights will be set to zero going into the final round. The final round will consist of (1) one, (8) eight hour day. The team with the largest weight after day three will be the CB Champions. The national rankings will then be reset and constructed by the final outcome of the tournament. ARTICLE V. SPONSORSHIP All school clubs are free to pursue sponsorship for themselves as individuals or for the clubs they represent in accordance with school regulations during the regular season however, no personal or club sponsorship's logos will be allowed for the CB televised event (final day) unless approved by CB officials. All final-day television clothing will be provided by CB officials or approved by same officials. Club shirts will be allowed during the qualifying days leading up to the final day of competition. To preserve the purity of collegiate competition no individual sponsor logos, club sponsor logos, or CB sponsor logos will appear on any apparel on the final day of the tournament other than; the schools official logo, the ESPN U logo, and the CB logo. The sponsors of CB will not appear on any apparel. ARTICLE VI. BOATS All schools will be responsible for providing their own boat throughout the competition and no restrictions on boats and motor manufacturers will apply to the CB events. See rules section at www.collgebass.com for details on boating safety issues and requirements. ARTICLE VII. TOURNAMENTS Section 1. Attendance A. All schools involved shall declare, in advance, a minimum of TWO (2), in-school tournaments that are to be the qualifying events to the CB championship. At least half of the clubs registered members must fish the tournament to be deemed an official CB qualifier. The club's president shall inform CB of the location and dates before the tournament is held, as well as all individuals who are members of CB that are to attend the event. The two individuals who score the highest points from these qualifying events will be the representatives for their school in the CB championship. A student that is registered with CB but chooses not fish (a) the qualifiers(s) will be awarded (5) points less than the lowest score from said tournament. 1st place: 100 points 2nd place: 99 points 3rd place: 98 points 4th place: 97 points 5th place: 96 points 6th place: 95 points 7th place: 94 points 8th place: 93 points 9th place: 92 points 10th place: 91 points And so on... B. An angler who participates in the tournament but fails to weigh-in a fish during the qualifying event will accrue an additional (5) five point deduction. Example: An angler catches no fish during the tournament but still finishes (11th) for the day. The points and angler would receive is (90) ninety. After the (5) five point penalty the final score an angler will receive is (85) eighty-five. C. Any school unable to use the qualifying events, due to adverse weather conditions; will be allowed to vote a team in by a two-thirds margin. The entire club must be present on voting day and must be approved by the president, vice-president, and treasurer of the club. The club must notify CB before the vote is held and be advised to the results immediately afterwards. D. A club may adopt the option to allow the top (4) four to (6) points' earners to compete in the CB qualifiers. The number of members a club can allow will be a minimum of (4) four. E. Interpretation of these rules and regulations will be left exclusively to CB officials. Decisions of the CB officials are final in all matters and are not subject to appeal.
