The 2022 majors will kick off at Kentucky Lake in Henry County and Paris, TN with the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley.  This event will take place March 12-13, 2022.  Featuring a two-day big bass format event that pays out 80 places with a total purse valued at over $35,000, the Big Bass Bash is the ACA’s longest-tenured regular-season event on the schedule.  Schools will be driving from across the country to descend upon Henry County for spring break bass fishing action to vie for prizes and valuable double points towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

Next up on the schedule, the ACA will visit a new location for the first time ever as college anglers will make their way to Barnett Reservoir in Ridgeland, MS April 9-10, 2022.  Barnett Reservoir has hosted many other fishing tournaments in the past, but it will be the first time the ACA has held a major televised event there.   This event will be a traditional five-bass limit format in which hundreds of the top student anglers in the country will be competing for valuable prizes, contingencies, and double points towards the School of the Year race.  The event will be hosted by the folks at Visit Ridgeland, with tournament festivities and events taking place at Old Trace Park.

The Top 5 finishing anglers/teams at each of these events will automatically qualify for the 2022 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops.

In 2022, the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops will return to Pickwick Lake and Florence, AL.  The 2022 edition will mark the 10th year in which the Championship has been contested on this famed Tennessee River fishery thanks to the folks in Florence, AL.  College fishing’s longest-running National Championship marks the end of the season out on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series and is the final points-earning opportunity for the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  The 2022 Championship will be held May 26-27, 2022 at McFarland Park in Florence, AL on the shores of Pickwick Lake, and will feature extensive media coverage both on television and via live streaming coverage.

The final event of the 2022 season will be the AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, AR.  Scheduled to take place October 8-9, 2022, the AFTCO Open is one of the most highly anticipated events in all of collegiate bass fishing.  This event is annually the first event of the new school year for many college teams.  Anglers are filled with excitement and anticipation to arrive in Russellville, AR to kick off a new school year.  Teams will be able to earn double points towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia at this event.  The Top 5 finishing teams at the 2022 AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open will qualify for the 2023 Championship.

All regular-season events, including the Championship, will count as double points towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  The 2022 season promises to be another great year out on the collegiate trail as the Association of Collegiate Anglers adds a new location to the schedule and plans to return to several of the top fisheries in the nation and you can expect additional announcements in the future on exciting new programs and ways to promote and grow college fishing, so stay tuned.  #WeAreCollegiateBass
