SAN ANTONIO, TX (February 7, 2023) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers is excited to announce a continued strategic relationship with Garmin®, the premier marine electronics manufacturer in the industry.  Known for revolutionary products like LiveScope live-scanning sonar and the Force® Trolling Motor, Garmin has been a proud supporter of collegiate bass fishing since its inception.

Garmin’s support of the ACA and its events will include continued support via the college angler discount program, Garmin Tournament Rewards, and support at events to include the 2023 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops.

“We are excited to continue to work with the Association of Collegiate Anglers in support of the great work they’re doing for college anglers and fishing clubs around the country,” said Dave Dunn, Garmin senior director of marine and RV sales. “These anglers are the future of our sport and we remain dedicated to supporting the platform in which they compete.”

“Since we first started the Collegiate Bass Fishing Series 18 years ago, Garmin has been a supporter of these student anglers and the anglers have responded by choosing Garmin to run on their boats and in their everyday life,” explained Wade Middleton, Director of the ACA and President of CarecoTV.  “Garmin makes so many great tools for these young anglers to utilize any time they are out on the water.  This includes Garmin LiveScope, and the Garmin Force Trolling motor and these college anglers are some of the savviest ones out there when it comes to catching fish on this innovative technology.”

Garmin supports collegiate anglers through a wide array of programs and initiatives.  One of those is the premier discount program they offer to all college anglers.  This program allows anglers to purchase products at a discounted rate, thus upgrading their gear and making them better anglers.  To find out more about the discount opportunities and apply to receive a code, click here.

Another great incentive offered by Garmin is the Garmin Tournament Rewards program.  This is a world-class level tournament contingency program that rewards anglers for running Garmin electronics.  To be eligible for the $500 cash prize, an angler must be the highest placing Garmin user at a qualifying Garmin-sanctioned event.  The boat must be equipped with one or more Garmin fixed-mounted marine electronics or trolling motor.  Garmin Tournament Rewards will be honored at all 2023 ACA sanctioned events. The ACA owns the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, Bass Pro Shops School of Year presented by Abu Garcia program, and associated assets.   The ACA lineup of major college fishing events includes a variety of tournaments nationwide that are multi-day tournaments, all of which are televised on several networks, as well as streamed on a variety of connected platforms.   The ACA also provides support to numerous schools operating regional events nationwide which helps to grow the exposure and awareness of college fishing.

Thanks in part to the large diversity of media exposure the ACA provides, the series boasts the largest amount of televised and streaming coverage of any collegiate fishing series. This includes a dedicated television series on numerous television networks and streaming platforms, as well as additional coverage of select events inside other programs.  This combination includes coverage from Discovery Channel, CBS Sports, Pursuit Channel, as well as other regional and national networks.  You can also find coverage online at any time of past events thanks to coverage on and
