SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 29, 2022) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers is set to host its second event of the season on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.  Lake Dardanelle and the city of Russellville, AR will play host to the 2022 AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open on October 8-9, 2022.  A no-entry-fee tournament with no field limits, the AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open will pay out over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies, as well as double points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  This ACA major event will be crucial for all of the top schools and anglers across the nation as they vie for valuable points and payouts at Lake Dardanelle.

The AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open is the second ACA major event of the 2022-23 season on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series.  Last year, this two-day traditional five-bass limit format event fielded over 220 boats.  The full field will compete for two days on Lake Dardanelle with official takeoff and weigh-in taking place at Lake Dardanelle State Park.

Official angler check-in and mandatory rules meeting will take place from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Hughes Center in Russellville, AR next Friday.  Weigh-in on Saturday will begin at 3:00 PM, and final day weigh-in Sunday is set to start at 1:00 PM.

This no-entry-fee event is set to pay out over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies.  Some of those major prizes include Bass Pro Shops gift cards, Bob’s Machine Shop jack plates, Engel coolers, Garmin credit, AFTCO gift cards, and more!  Check out the complete prize list at this link.

The AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open will be a key event in the race for 2022-23 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  First place will pay out 1,750 points, with points being awarded all the way down to 150th.  Anglers must weigh in a fish to be eligible to earn points.  Schools will be eligible to earn points for their two highest finishing teams inside of the top 150.
