SAN ANTONIO, TX (May 11, 2023) – In exactly two weeks, the Association of Collegiate Anglers and Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series will host its annual year-end National Championship event.  The BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops is set to be contested at Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC on May 25-26, 2023.  The 18th edition of college fishing’s longest running National Championship event will host a full field competing for over $30,000 in prizes & contingencies, as well as the coveted Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

The field for the 2023 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops is comprised of close to 400 of the top anglers in all of collegiate bass fishing.  Teams earned qualification into the prestigious year-end Championship via a variety of methods including; top finishes at ACA regular-season events, past ACA National Champions, and the Top 25 in the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  This year’s championship has 24 of the Top 25 ranked teams in the nation on-hand to compete at Lake Hartwell.

The 2023 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops will be the final event of the season in the race for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  For the first time in the history of college fishing’s longest-running National Championship, this event will be worth triple points.  Teams will be eligible to earn points for their three highest-finishing teams inside of the Top 150, and first place will earn 2,500 points for their respective school.  There is potential for a school to earn more than 7,000 points at Lake Hartwell and make a massive move in the final rankings for the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.

Following the conclusion of weigh-in on Day 2, points standings will be finalized for the 2022-23 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  The ACA will award the coveted trophy to the number one team, honor the Top 3 on-site, and announce the final Top 25 for the season.

Championship Week will begin on Sunday, May 21st with the start of Official Practice.  On Wednesday night, the ACA will host its annual Angler & Sponsor Banquet at Green Pond Landing on the shores of Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC.  Earlier this week, the ACA announced that Bass Pro Shops pro Andy Montgomery will be the guest speaker.  That night, anglers will be able to meet and talk with representatives from top brands in the industry, get tons of free gear, enjoy a free meal, and receive a pre-tournament rules briefing.  The full field of anglers will compete for two days, May 25-26.  Official takeoff and weigh-in will occur at Green Pond Landing.  Weigh-ins will be streamed live on Outdoor Action TV starting at 2:00 PM (ET) each day.
