Registration for the 17th edition of the ACA Championship to close Wednesday, May 11th

SAN ANTONIO, TX (May 9, 2022) – The 2022 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops is set to take place on Pickwick Lake in Florence, AL on May 26th – 27th.  With the inaugural Association of Collegiate Anglers Championship event contested in 2006, 2022 will mark the 17th installment of this National Championship tournament.  Consisting of a maximum field size of 200 hundred boats, the Boat US Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops boasts the largest reaching national television and media coverage of any collegiate bass fishing event in the nation.  Registration for the two-day, no-entry-fee tournament is set to close this upcoming Wednesday, May 11th, at 6:00 PM (CT).

College fishing’s longest-running National Championship event will boast a total payout, consisting of cash, prizes, and contingencies, valued at close to $30,000.  Here is a breakdown of the Top 5 payout:

1st Place: $5,000 cash

2nd Place: $2,500 cash

3rd Place: $1,500 cash

4th Place: $1,200 cash

5th Place: $1,000 cash

Along with the valuable cash and prizes on the line, top finishing teams will be eligible for a variety of contingencies paying out an additional $10,000.  This includes the likes of Garmin Tournament Rewards, Yamaha Power Pay, Ranger Cup, and the ACA Logo Contingency.  See a complete list of available contingency programs here.

Not only is there a very lucrative prize payout tied to the 2022 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops, teams will be competing for valuable points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia.  The ACA Championship is a double points event that will greatly impact the final National Standings to be finalized following Day 2 weigh-in.

1st place in the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops will earn 1,500 points for their respective school.  Teams will be able to earn points for their two highest placing teams inside of the Top 125 in the final tournament standings.  The maximum possible points a single team can earn is 2,980.

Tournament waters officially went off limits beginning yesterday, May 8th, until the start of official tournament practice on Sunday, May 22nd.

The ACA would like to inform registered anglers about the status of locking up to Wilson Lake during the event.  Wilson Lake is considered part of the official tournament waters, and anglers will have the option to lock during both days of tournament competition.  Recent construction and repairs to the Wilson Dam have altered the locking schedule for recreational traffic.  Please reference this statement from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District about the current plan for locking to Wilson Lake.
